The chapter on “Partnering Positively with Parents” was a great read for someone in my position. It covers almost everything you need to know about dealing with parents and creating positive relationships with the parents of students. There is a section of pros and cons of different communication methods, which was a life saver. I’m glad I read it before I had to make my first parent phone call regarding a detention. I found myself recalling certain words of wisdom from the book in recent days.
